About the Department:
The Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Department is one of the most important administrative departments in the college, reporting directly to the Dean. It is responsible for following up on the implementation of quality plans within the college to build an internal quality system that enhances the quality of the educational process. This is achieved through coordination with all departments, units, and divisions of the college. The Quality Assurance Department consists of four units: (Quality Assurance Unit, Performance Evaluation Unit, Training and Technical Support Unit, and Laboratory Accreditation Unit).

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Department:
- Promoting a culture of quality throughout the college and among its members, and conducting studies and workshops in the field of quality management systems and academic accreditation.
- Evaluating performance and ensuring quality for the college's administrative and academic departments and units.
- Achieving the college's objectives related to quality assurance and academic accreditation.
- Organizing the college's activities related to evaluation, academic accreditation, and quality assurance in both administrative and academic departments and units.
- Continuous quality improvement and future foresight at the college level as a whole.
- Enhancing efforts to raise the college's academic and professional ranking locally and internationally.
- Monitoring academic and administrative performance standards and indicators by various college departments and units.
- Supervising the implementation of strategic plan programs by various college departments and units and their quality assurance manuals, and providing opinions to departments and units regarding their quality.
- Monitoring the compliance of college departments and units with quality standards and submitting reports to the College Council and then to the University.
Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Unit:
- Representing the college in quality assurance activities.
- Developing plans for implementing quality programs within the college.
- Following up on the implementation of axes related to applying quality standards in the college to obtain educational accreditation.
- Preparing the requirements for quality assurance in the college and following up on the implementation of requirements issued by the Quality Assurance Department.
- Preparing guidance manuals for quality application methods and work regulations within the college.
- Preparing necessary plans to involve staff in theoretical and practical courses that support quality achievement within the college.
- Monitoring the compliance of college departments and units with international quality assurance standards.
Responsibilities of the University Performance Evaluation Unit:
- Representing the college in committees related to performance evaluation.
- Coordinating with all college departments and units to document all data related to evaluation files.
- Monitoring the performance evaluation of college staff, regarding evaluation files for all faculty and staff.
- Preparing analytical studies that contribute to raising the level of performance within the college, as well as circulating evaluation files such as faculty performance evaluation files and staff performance evaluation files.
- Compiling results of analytical studies on performance evaluation, showing their positives and negatives, and providing necessary proposals for performance development and improvement.
- Preparing periodic reports on the unit's activities and submitting them to the Quality Assurance Department at the University Presidency.
Responsibilities of the Training and Technical Support Unit:
- Promoting a culture of quality throughout all aspects of the college and its formations.
- Conducting developmental training courses for workers in the field of quality and accreditation.
- Preparing a plan to organize new activities about quality (conferences, courses, seminars, workshops, discussion sessions).
- Performing any other tasks assigned by the Quality Assurance Department at the University Presidency.
Responsibilities of the Laboratory Accreditation Unit:
- Proposing regulations for accrediting laboratories, certification bodies, and inspection bodies.
- Implementing mutual recognition agreements in national, regional, and international accreditation fields.
- Developing and unifying practices for accrediting laboratories and inspection bodies globally.
- Evaluating and monitoring laboratory accreditation issued by accredited bodies.
- Preparing a database of laboratories in the college and the available capabilities in terms of equipment used in each laboratory.
- Determining the competence and capability of laboratory staff.
- Monitoring the laboratory's compliance with Iraqi or international standard specifications such as ISO, ASTM, etc. when conducting tests through special forms for that purpose.
- Monitoring tests conducted to qualify laboratories to avoid cases of non-compliance.
- Developing a time program for the college to start qualifying some laboratories for specific and limited fields.
