Overview of the Private Law Branch
The Private Law Branch was established in the College following the division of the Law Department into two branches: the Public Law Branch and the Private Law Branch, pursuant to University Order No. 559 on October 6, 2020. The Private Law Branch undertakes and supervises the teaching of the following subjects:
Introduction to the Study of Law, Introduction to the Study of Islamic Sharia, Legal History, Obligations, Personal Status Law (Marriage, Divorce, Wills, and Inheritance), Commercial Law, Nominate Contracts, Companies, Civil Procedures, Evidence, Commercial Papers, Real Rights, Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, Private International Law, Labor Law, Social Security Law, and Execution Law. This branch consists of faculty members who teach the aforementioned subjects. It is headed by one of the faculty members specializing in Private Law.
Subsequent college regulations have continued to maintain this branch to supervise the teaching of its courses in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and it has supervised the granting of Master's and Doctorate degrees in various specialties of the branch.
The Private Law Branch is one of the most important branches of the College of Law - University of Fallujah. It specializes in addressing legal relationships of a private nature concerning transactions between individuals. It focuses on relationships related to commercial matters, civil matters, as well as matters of personal status.
The Private Law Branch includes a group of professors holding academic titles. The branch strives to hold conferences, scientific seminars, and workshops periodically and regularly on topics directly related to people's lives.
Postgraduate studies (Doctorate and Master's) have been established within the branch. Teaching in postgraduate studies is carried out by professors holding the academic titles (Professor and Assistant Professor), contributing to raising the students' scientific level.
Branch Vision
The Private Law Branch works to formulate the phased features of the social and human reality, both present and immediate or subsequent future. In the first, it identifies the positive actor amidst the variables of the local and internal environments, and in the second, it foresees the foundations of development in the science of law and its cognitive paths.
Branch Mission
To revive the spirit of the Mesopotamian civilization, which originated from this land and was the owner of the first ancient law; to demonstrate the ability of the great human heritage it carries to paint a bright picture of a prosperous present and create hope for a more beautiful tomorrow; in addition to elevating mankind above the politics of social organization through the authority of Private Law in its specialized types (Civil, Commercial, and Personal Status).
Branch Objectives
The Private Law Branch seeks to build a (practical) legal generation with values and free will, capable of meeting the requirements of the job market in the intellectual, legislative, and judicial aspects of society, in support of the path of human guidance in the legal environment.
To develop plans and curricula for scientific research for faculty members and postgraduate students, and upgrade their content on the scale of quality, through serious contribution to developing academic courses and solving problems related to the local community and market requirements.
