Higher Diploma Program in Commercial Arbitration
Overview of the Higher Diploma Program / Commercial Arbitration / Private Law Branch for the Academic Year 2026-2027
In line with the college’s vision and mission to achieve scientific excellence and development, the College of Law at the University of Fallujah prepared a feasibility study for the establishment of the Higher Diploma program in Commercial Arbitration on March 3, 2021. Subsequently, the University Council approved the establishment of this program during its first open session (Part Two) held on November 9, 2021. The proposal was thereafter reviewed by the Committee of Deans and approved under the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Research and Development / Graduate Studies Division, numbered (B T5/317, dated May 19, 2022), subject to the provision of the foundational requirements for establishing the program and changing the specialization and branch designation as well as the faculty specialization from general to private law. The college committed to fulfilling these requirements and successfully achieved all of them.
Subsequently, a ministerial directive was issued by the Department of Research and Development / Graduate Studies Division, numbered (B T5/6834, dated June 17, 2025), stipulating the formation of a specialized scientific committee comprising members from various Iraqi universities. The committee was tasked with reviewing the proposal to establish a one-year Higher Diploma program in Commercial Arbitration / Private Law Branch at our college, including an assessment of material and human resources and compliance with the conditions stipulated in the Graduate Studies Instructions No. (26) of (1990) regarding program establishment.
Based on the recommendations of this committee, the aforementioned program was officially established under the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Research and Development / Graduate Studies Division, numbered (B T5/9178, dated August 24, 2025), communicated to us via the university order issued by the University of Fallujah Presidency / Graduate Studies Affairs Division, numbered (8071, dated November 5, 2025), effective from the academic year 2026-2027.
This program pursues several objectives that our college seeks to achieve, as follows:
Establishing a distinguished professional postgraduate program aimed at advancing the qualifications of law college graduates specialized in legal science, as well as graduates from other disciplines interested in the field of arbitration, such as those from the Colleges of Engineering or Administration and Economics.
Optimally utilizing the college’s material and human resources.
Working towards the continuous development of law college graduates and enhancing their professional skills.
Additionally, developing the skills of the college’s faculty members and providing instructors with the opportunity to optimally harness their efforts.
