The Private Law Department was established in the college after the Law Department split into two branches - Public Law and Private Law - according to University Order No. 559 on 10/6/2020. The Private Law Department oversees the teaching of the following subjects:
Introduction to Law Studies, Introduction to Islamic Sharia, Legal History, Obligations, Personal Status Law (Marriage, Divorce, Wills, Inheritance), Commercial Law, Named Contracts, Companies, Civil Procedures, Evidence, Commercial Papers, Real Rights, Fundamentals of Islamic Jurisprudence, Private International Law, Labor Law, Social Security Law, and Execution Law. The department consists of faculty members who teach these subjects and is headed by one of the faculty members specializing in private law.
Subsequent college regulations have maintained this department to oversee the teaching of its courses in both undergraduate and graduate studies, and it has supervised the awarding of Master's and PhD degrees in various branches of the department.
The Private Law Department is one of the most important departments at the College of Law - University of Fallujah. It specializes in handling legal relationships of a private nature concerning transactions between individuals, focusing on commercial matters, civil matters, and personal status issues.
The department includes a group of professors with advanced academic degrees and regularly organizes conferences, scientific seminars, and workshops on topics directly related to people's lives.
The department has established graduate studies (PhD and Master's programs), with teaching conducted by professors and associate professors, contributing to raising students' academic level.

The Private Law Department works to formulate the transitional features of social and human reality, both present and future. It identifies positive actors with changes in local and internal environments in the present, and anticipates the foundations of development in legal science and its cognitive paths in the future.

To revive the spirit of Mesopotamian civilization that originated from this land and was home to the first ancient law; to demonstrate the ability of its great human heritage to paint a bright picture of a prosperous present and create hope for a more beautiful future; and to elevate humanity above social organization policies through the authority of private law in its specialized forms (civil, commercial, and personal status).
Department Objectives
The Private Law Department seeks to build a generation of (practical) legal professionals with values and free will, capable of meeting labor market requirements in the intellectual, legislative, and judicial aspects of society, supporting the march of human guidance in the legal environment.
To develop plans and curricula for scientific research for faculty members and graduate students, and upgrade their content in terms of quality, through serious contributions to developing study courses and solving problems related to local society and market requirements.
