Prof. Dr. Ammar Ragab Mu'ayshir, Professor of Criminal Procedures in our college, participated in presenting the discussion workshop entitled:
"Enhancing Cybersecurity and its Link to Preventing Digital Crimes."
The workshop was held in the Virtual Courtroom of our college. Through the presentation and enriched discussion attended by college staff and students, several important concepts were reached that everyone should consider to avoid the dangers and pitfalls of digital crime.

Today, the concept of crime as a phenomenon is no longer what it was before the emergence of the digital technological revolution. The latter has significantly impacted all social phenomena, particularly the criminal aspect, which has begun to manifest in digital form in both behavior and outcome. The concept of the crime scene has also changed, giving us a dual-dimensional crime scene. Additionally, some types of criminal evidence have become ineffective as they no longer align with the digital nature of crimes. All these factors have imposed the necessity of enhancing Preventive Cybersecurity as the fundamental pillar for protecting the digital space. Strengthening preventive security for the digital space acts as a sturdy shield to prevent the commission of digital crimes, whether related to hacking systems, stealing sensitive data, or the subsequent crimes of extortion, which have reached a remarkably noticeable scale. Undoubtedly, the stronger the technical digital infrastructure and the human awareness focused on fortifying the protective wall, the more the chances of successful criminal digital attacks diminish, and the rates of online fraud and extortion decline.
