Legal Protection of Cultural Identity in the Context of Globalization

As part of the series of activities of the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law, the workshop titled (Legal Protection of Cultural Identity in the Context of Globalization) was held on Monday, 6/4/2026. It was delivered by Lecturer Ashwaq Talib Kasar, who highlighted the legal frameworks for protecting cultural identity, which is one of the most important components that distinguish peoples and express their civilizational uniqueness embodied in language, heritage, customs, and traditions. With the accelerating pace of globalization and the accompanying extensive media and cultural openness, cultural identity has become exposed to increasing risks that threaten its cohesion and continuity. The workshop addressed the most prominent contemporary challenges, contributing to raising awareness of the need for balance between global openness and the preservation of cultural authenticity.
