The Center for Biotechnology and Environmental Technologies was established by an official letter from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Research and Development Department, reference number (B T 8207/8 dated 21/7/2019).
The center contributes scientifically and effectively to the scientific and technological advancement of the university in many fields. This depends on the level and efficiency of scientific collaboration among researchers, as well as scientific and financial support from the state and donor organizations.
The center will also serve as a pioneering production laboratory through conducting applied scientific research, organizing scientific conferences locally and internationally, and holding training and development courses for researchers. It aims to supply Iraqi universities with qualified scientific personnel in the fields of cancer research, genetics, biotechnology, zoonotic diseases, agricultural research, and environmental studies. This will ultimately raise the scientific level of undergraduate and postgraduate studies and enhance the university's scientific credibility and reputation.
