Master's Thesis in Law College Discusses Legal Regulation of Real Estate Mediation

The College of Law discussed on Thursday, July 31, 2025, a master's thesis in Private Law entitled:
"Legal Regulation of Real Estate Mediation - A Comparative Study"
Submitted by master's student Shorouk Khalid Alliwi.

The real estate mediation contract is considered one of the important contracts in the economic environment, as these contracts encourage economic growth. The real estate mediator performs the task of finding suitable properties for the parties with the conditions they desire, working to bridge viewpoints between the two parties. Their mission ends with bringing the parties' perspectives closer together, unless they guarantee execution.

Real estate mediation activities also hold a distinguished position in economic life, due to individuals' need - including traders and others - for someone to search for a person to be a party in a specific contract, and when necessary, conduct the required negotiations for its conclusion. This is the essence of real estate mediation work. The real estate mediator in this capacity performs merely material work in which they do not directly conclude the mediated contract on behalf of their client, neither in their own name nor in their client's name. This is work that the mediator practices freely and independently for their own account without being subordinate to their client.

The discussion committee consisted of:

  • Prof. Dr. Sahar Rashid Hamid - Chairman

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Maher Mohsen Aboud - Member

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Latif Saleh - Member

  • Prof. Dr. Majid Ahmed Ibrahim - Member and Supervisor

After an extensive study of the thesis and hearing the discussion committee's examination of the student's defense of her thesis, the committee decided to accept the thesis and grant the student a master's degree. A thousand congratulations to the student for this effort she presented, and may she proceed to a doctorate, God willing.
