Master’s thesis: “Criminal protection of cultural identity.”
A master’s thesis at the College of Law, University of Fallujah, discussing the criminal protection of cultural identity. With God Almighty’s blessings. On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, the College of Law discussed a master’s thesis in public law, tagged (Criminal Protection of Cultural Identity - A Comparative Study), submitted by master’s student Zainab Mardi Kazem. The issue of cultural identity today occupies great importance, whether at the national level or at the international level, as efforts are combined to preserve the identity of members of society from the harms that It is accompanied by divisions and the dispersion of identities, and the reason for this is the attacks that targeted the elements of cultural identity and their threat to obliterate and erase the identity of the members of the nation. The attacks that affect the elements of cultural identity are the most serious and deadly crimes against the components of the members of society and the most successful in eliminating the cultural identity of individuals, especially in Iraq, which is characterized by cultural pluralism. Therefore, the study shed light on the criminal texts that bestowed protection on the elements of cultural identity, and showed the extent of the effectiveness of the texts in eliminating the cultural identity of individuals. To provide this protection, the discussion committee consisted of: Professor Ammar Rajab Muaishar, Chairman, Professor Wissam Muhammad Khalifa, Member, Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Ali, Member, Professor Dr. Muhammad Jiyad Zaidan, Member and Supervisor. After extensive study of the thesis and the discussion committee hearing the student’s defenses for her thesis, the committee decided to accept the thesis and award the student a master’s degree. A thousand congratulations to the student for this effort she has made, and may she wish her a doctorate, God willing. Division Media/College of Law
