“Consolidating National Unity” workshop.
With God’s blessing, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit held on Monday, February 26, 2024, the workshop entitled (Towards Consolidating the Culture of National Unity and the Values of Peaceful Coexistence in Iraqi Society), in which both M.M. Ashwaq Talib Kassar and M.M. Saja Hamdi Mizer were present, as he shed light on several aspects, including: clarifying the concept of national unity and peaceful coexistence, its importance, and the role of national legislation in embodying it, as well as the obstacles to achieving it. At the international and national levels, leading to an explanation of the most important ways to strengthen it. Within this framework, national unity and peaceful coexistence are among the topics that continue to preoccupy human societies, and their effects have made coexistence between members of societies difficult, if not impossible, especially in a society characterized by the multiplicity and diversity of its religious, cultural, racial, and ethnic components, such as the Iraqi society. Here the necessity of spreading the culture of national unity and peaceful coexistence is evident as one of the humanitarian and moral necessities that it embodies. Constitutional legislation, including the divine Constitution (the Holy Qur’an), which brought a just law, sublime human systems that respect and honor human beings regardless of their religion and belief, in addition to the positive constitution, which considered this concept to be an essential pillar in building society and its stability and achieving its unity and social fabric, so one of the most important ways to achieve this concept is to activate the language of tolerance and constructive dialogue because of their great importance in building a democratic state with constitutional and legal foundations that guarantee individuals their rights and freedoms.
