The Citizen’s Right to Nomination and Election

The Human Rights Unit at the College of Law / University of Fallujah held a workshop on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, titled “The Citizen’s Right to Nomination and Election.”
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ismail Fadel Halwas.

The workshop addressed the legal and constitutional framework of the citizen’s right to run for office and to vote, as well as the importance of political participation in strengthening democratic practices and promoting the concepts of citizenship and human rights.

The event was attended by Dr. Raed Naji Ahmed, Dean of the College of Law; Dr. Suleiman Barak, Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs; and Mr. Hossam Al-Din Faisal Kawkaz.

This activity comes as part of a series of events organized by the college to promote legal awareness and enhance electoral culture among students and the university community.
